As the end of the summer approaches, those of us living on the coast with kids are excited about returning to school.

There are a number of Elementary and Secondary schools on the Sunshine Coast.

Schools are located in Langdale, Gibsons, Roberts Creek, Sechelt, Madeira Park and Pender Harbour.

Sunshine Coast Travel

If you'd like to come over and check out the schools before you move to the Sunshine Coast here are a few choices for different forms of transportation available.

If you're looking to get over to the coast, check the schedule from BC Ferries.

Once on the Sunshine Coast, you'll want to get around. The bus is easy to catch, affordable and will take you from one end to the other in a reasonable amount of time.

Sunshine Coast Arts

August 1 – 7 hosts the Sechelt Festival of the Arts. Come check out local artists and venues.

Langdale hosts Synchronicity- The Festival on August 7 – 8.

This is a unique performance and exhibition in the woods.

Don’t miss out on the masks, music, puppetry, poetry, stories, art and food. Guaranteed fun for the whole family.

Sunshine Coast Festival of the Written Arts on August 12 – 15 at the Rockwood Center in Sechelt hosts some of Canada’s best literary talent.

This year the famous 6 String Nations Guitar will be travelling with the festival.

Speaking of guitars, do you play? Songwriters in the (Wild) Round takes place on August 18 from 7 – 9pm at The Wild Bistro in Gibsons.

This night is for song writers of all levels and experiences so come out and have some fun.

Garlic lovers around the coast can gather at the Pender Harbour Lions Club Garlic Festival. August 28 – 29. Starts at 10 am.
